Webb paints expansive western landscapes that stretch as far as the eye can see. His style is almost pointillist, producing a startling realism. Cattle huddle together in the distance, on a snowy hill. Foreboding skies tell of an oncoming storm. A lonely road stretches through green pastures and wheat fields in the summer sun.
W.H. Webb was born and raised in England. He graduated from the University of Manchester, an art major, specializing in painting, sculpture and printmaking. He emigrated to Canada in 1968, settled in Alberta where he became an senior administrator in education, continuing to paint and exhibit in Western Canada. . In 1990, he left the public service to paint full-time, a decision that he has never regretted.
Today Webb is exhibited at Galleries across the country and is in public and private collections in Canada and the United States.
